Hello Stamper Friends,
Did you think I took a vacation or something? Wow what a long few days we have had! The storm we got 4th of July night knocked out our power and we finally got it back on yesterday afternoon. I tried to post last night and I was half way through it and the internet died! So I'm gonna try again today.
Nope, we didn't get any mail this day!!!
This was the neighbors tree that came down and went across the road and ended up on our side of the road.
There where power lines down all over the place
We have a generator so we did keep the frig going and a small air conditioner and of course the tv. It's funny how you just go into a room and flick the switch on even when there is no power! I used our pool alot because it was like 100 degrees every day that it was out. I used it as my big bathtub!!!
On Friday I got really excited because the tree people showed up to remove the trees from around the lines. But no Consumers (sad face)
Saturday rolled around and still no power, so back to the pool I went. As I was laying there I started to hear the beeping noise when big truck is backing up. I jumped out of the pool and got dressed, got in my car and drove down to the end of the driveway. (no I am not lazy, we have a long driveway and I was having a hot flash so I decided to get in my car and turn the air on FULL BLAST)
When I got to the end of the driveway this is what I saw:
7 big Consumers truck where here and over to the neighbors, I really wanted to go down and kiss the truck but no one would go with me to take my picture! They should know by now that I blog, dahhh!!!!
By 4:00 on Saturday afternoon we had our power back, oh what to do first? First we got rid of ALL the extension cords that where all through the house. Went to the bathroom without a bucket in hand! Today everything is back to normal, the washer has been running none stop since this morning. The TV is blaring, the air conditioner is running and Tamie is smiling!!!!
So as you can tell it's been a very long 4 days for us and many around us. All I can say is THANK YOU to all the Consumer guys out there restoring all the downed power lines!!!
Well, I am off to try and get some more work done. I'll be back tonight as I hope to get some stamping done.
Thanks for stopping by and sorry I've been missing!
Tamie
Glad to hear the good news!! Have a wonderfully productive day!!
So you guys were the ones that needed all the work trucks that the workmen at our place was talking about!!! Unlike you, we did not loose power and the tree people were here by 7 a.m. next morning. I didn’t even think the storm was that bad, and I was outside at 3:30 a.m. when it started. Hubby went to work and didn’t even notice the huge oak tree limb down in front of our mailbox (he said it was dark — but don’t know how he could have not noticed, or hit it). So glad nobody was hurt over there Tamie, and so glad our generator is huge so it does everything inside and out (hubby knows how crabby I get if I don’t have electric!!).
Happy to hear you’re back up and stamping! We never lost power out here and, as Ron says, we usually lose it when a frog farts!
