Good Evening Stamper Friends,
Well, I just finished in the kitchen so I am all ready for tomorrow! The hall is set up so all I have to do is get up, get ready, and go!!!
Since everything I own is at the hall I am going to show you some pictures I seen on facebook today. I have been lucky enough to go to Founders like 7 times, not this year (sad face) We have never been able to take pictures at Knab where the stamps are made. This year they let the girls take some so I'm going to share them with you and hopefully I will remember everything:
This is the factory where the stamps are made
When the buses pull up in front this is what is there waiting! All the factory workers are outside to great you.
Of course stamps are made from rubber, this gentleman is putting the rubber over the plates, then the image is stamped into the rubber in a very hot oven
Jen is pulling the rubber off from the plate after it has been ran through.
This is where they put the sticky stuff on the back of the stamps
Guess what happens to all this left over rubber???
This is where they go down a line and get all the wood blocks put into the cases. I did this and man there are a LOT of different size blocks and they move pretty fast down that line!!
This is what happens to the rubber that is cut off from around the edges or the defective ones. It's ground up in this machine and then it ends up in play scapes.
I am guessing this is the paper line where it gets counted and packaged? I don't think they had this when I was there so not for sure about it. Same as the next picture which is the ink storage:
Have you noticed how stinken clean this place is. Oh yah everything is neet and tidey throught the whole place.
After seeing these pictures I really need to get my rear in gear and get back there next year!!!!!
Well, it's 11:30 and I am heading for bed as it's going to be a long day tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and see you all tomorrow!
Tamie
